More than Vincent Signed up for!

...Shade was concerned.  "And you trust this Ordre de L'interdit?  What sort of inquiries are you making?"

By his tone, it was clear Francios took the question seriously.  "I trust them with my very life.  We must trust each other...for all our lives are in jeopardy.  Membership in the Order is punishable by death.  I will reach out to them, and see if they have any ideas at all about how to get you home."

Vincent's hope hung on those final words..."get you home."  When Vincent left Gwent, he did so to see the world.  He was not the heir to his father's lordship, and thus had no meaningful place in Elginshire.  Why not travel about?  Help those you could?  Preserve life in a world so determined to end it.

When the Rangers of Oth had captured him, and his traveling companion Arwin, Vincent had been angry.  But he understood that he had unknowingly entered a situation he did not fully understand.  He had crossed a boundary that he could not see.  When Shade and Sympos, Timm and Gabe had come to the cave and released him, agreeing to help them complete their task seemed like the proper thing to do.

Close a gate!  Drive back the Fey to their homelands, and protect the humans of the Wilds!  It had seemed so simple.

And now...now he had been whisked away to some dead-end universe that shouldn't exist.  A land some 500 years removed from the world of his birth, and he felt trapped.  The Orb of Om-Radeen was not working.  The gate was gone.  And here he was, in a land long lost, among a people long considered dead.

When Francios saw them on their way from the Temple, all Vincent could think about was getting some sleep.  The comfort of a warm bed, and escape from worry that sleep would bring.  Perhaps tomorrow he would be more prepared for the circumstances in which they found themselves.  Perhaps tomorrow he would be able to discern the light of hope at the end of the long tunnel of darkness.

Vincent hardly spoke to his traveling companions on the way to the tavern and, once there, he quickly rented a room for himself and pulled back from the world.

Nathan, what does Vincent do next?
