Coeur de Toulon

“No, this journal entry is not an old ballade. Shade begins a courtship of Jess Reinholdt, the farm girl. Although Jess is to be offered to Jacob Landsby, Shade forcibly and with malice inserts himself into the relationship. The insertion causes a situation and the situation becomes a problem.

Shade is the perfect gentlemen regarding Jessica, as he calls her. For, who's birth name is Jess? He gives her gifts and makes sure she has protection walking home from work. Shade has an answer for any questions Jess might have about her other suitor, Jack.

By this time, Jacob Landsby sees only red, blood that is. He demands an accounting for his honor. The lad is a head taller than Shade and a might thicker. A badly worn leather worker’s glove is thrown down in front of Renaud’s Conjuring and Enchanting shop.

Jack says, “Show yourself, you backstabbing coward!”

It must be said that Rene found immense excitement from this tête-a-tête. Once all parties are made available, Rene brokers the entertainment, or battle Coeur de Toulon, Battle for the Heart of Toulon. Rene says some weird shit, “How Jess represents the Heart of Toulon and how her flowing red hair is the blood of her suitor’s.

At which point, Jess balls and seeks refuge in the bosom of Jacob’s mother.

Sympos offers his blessing to them, and Shade snatches the opportunity to request boons. “Sympie, buddy, I need some of your pump-me-ups, your bustier, that thing you do with the hot air.

With that explanation, Sympos dips his finger in a nearby poo pile and applies a multi-pointed star on Shade’s forehead. He says, “Be good in the coming duel, be just and of high moral fiber. Then, bring the dead to me for preparation.”

Shade has a shocked look and says, “I don’t know how, but you leave me speechless.”

Sympos replies, “That is all Rukin requires.”

Rene proclaims, “Unfortunately, the joust, the tourney, will not be to the death. It shall be to the ‘Un, Deux, Trois,” three cuts! It shall be held at the courtyard, tomorrow. Bring treats! And, be sure to tell the braumeister, for the good of the community.”
