In Time of Need

  • An Ogre-Magi is needed to support an ogre line troop. Frightal-lok is assigned to a scouting party looking to take down a spy network. He has come accustomed to working with random special forces units. Always the outsider. The untrusted one. He always comes through, in his own way.
  • The incursion came from wood elves in the nearby forestlands. Every few years they send an assassin group prodding at the Ogaroth’s defenses. The elves use magic to camouflage themselves and polymorph themselves into common creatures. And magic is what is needed to sus them out.
  • A Half Ogre, Half Wood Elf, called Naminson, becomes Frightal-lok’s nemesis. It uses a Great Ogre Bow, striking down foes from great distances. +1 Great Ogre Bow.
  • Frightal-lok uses his invisibility, combined with a misty step to get the drop on Naminson. The half-breed took out two Ogaroth ogres before zeroing in on him.
  • The one-on-one battle that ensued broke branches, bone and skulls. In the end, Frightal-lok levitated him out of a tree, letting him fall from one hundred feet, breaking Naminson’s back.
  • The special forces squad spends the next fortnight tracking down the rest of the insurgent wood elves. Once their sniper was taken out, the rest were easy prey. The hard part was detecting their movements. Frightal-lok’s detect magic came in handy.
  • Fireball! Fireball! Fireball! Frightal-lok’s cackling laugh echoed throughout the forest as it burned. The wood elves tried to make it back to their village. However, the ensuing forest fire killed most all their tribe. Frightal-lok felt a little sorry as their bodies made crackling and popping noises.
