Akhil Provides Three Illicit Contacts

    Mark Stinson

Cam checked his compad nervously now and again, even though he knew the compad would alert him when he received a message.  He was anxious.  He had done some shady things back at Starlight Haven, but selling illicit goods under the nose of Veridian law enforcement was a whole other level of shady.

    ***Beep***

    compad

Cam fumbled his compad and almost dropped it.  Finally!  What seemed like days had only been hours, but Cam was relieved to see the encrypted message from Akhil pop up on his compad.  Cam clicked on it, and the clean-wipe app Akhil had added decoded the message.

"Three options.  Each has its dangers...and its opportunities.  Choose well, and good luck."

"If you go to the Nebula, a nightclub smack dab in the middle of the financial district, you should be able to get a meeting with Tony Gold (surely that's not his real name, am I right!?)  If you have trouble getting a meeting, flash that Mist you showed me and suggest there's more where that came from.  Tony's a mover and shaker in the Family.  Snazzy dresser.  Quite the womanizer.  And if you're going to do business with the Family, you've got to get in well with Tony."

"If you go to the Murk, the same shitty neighborhood where the Chip Cafe is located, you should be able to meet with the Cripple.  He's a sick fuck, so brace yourself.  He lives in an apartment (203) at the top of a tenement named the Beaumont.  Sort of an armed enclave for the Low Caste.  They're a revolutionary group trying to undermine the High Marshall and Veridian's government.  But, they fund their political activity with criminal activity.  Illicit trade, and the like."

"There's profit to be made if you choose to deal with Mad Lad's Boys, but they are an unpredictable bunch.  They're all Surgers, and addicted to the stuff.  If you want to make a deal with them, you'll have to contact Rafe, and he spends most of his time in an illicit Surge lab in the Murk.  The Coordinates for the lab are 02.5976--37.5232.  Again, if you run into trouble, flash the Mist and let them know there's more to be had.  Don't piss off Rafe."

"Well, fuck...don't piss off any of these groups."

"Be safe.  I trust you to deal me fair on the 5%."

Cam had time to jot down a few notes, and then the Akhil's clean-wipe app on Cam's compad destroyed the message.
