In the interest of tracking the various spike drive rumors, I have created this post. Feel free to suggest edits or additions to the list in the comments below.
THE NEBULA'S ANOMALY - Original Source: Starlight Haven
Astrophysicists studying the nebula surrounding Hades have detected unusual energy fluctuations. Rumors spread that these anomalies might be linked to a functioning spike drive hidden within the planet. Adventurous prospectors and factions alike now seek to unravel the mysteries concealed within the white dwarf’s nebulous shroud around Hades.

On the fiery moon of Forge, legends suggest that a spike drive-equipped vessel crashed and sunk into the lava prior to the Scream. It is theorized that the dense rock, molten lava, and metallic content of Forge protected the Spike Drive from being destroyed during the meta-dimensional disaster known as the Scream. Some have suggested that a thorough search of the volcanic tunnels deep beneath the surface of Forge might reveal the lost, but relatively intact ship. Others say this is little more than a fairy tale.

Nyx is one of Abyssal’s seven moons. It is rumored that on the moon of Nyx, there is a long-abandoned research outpost that was once dedicated to experimental spike drive technology. It has been speculated that the outpost's secrets and technology may still be hidden there. Does the outpost still float on the surface of the inky black seas of Nyx? Or has it sunk into a watery grave far beneath the waves? Did it ever exist at all? After all, this rumor seems to have originated within the Plunder.

In the Garuda asteroid belt, it is rumored that there was a hidden research facility that experimented with spike drives. Plunderers believe that the facility's advanced technology could still be concealed within the drifting asteroids. They also believe that the asteroid belt is so vast, that the Garuda Corporation has never uncovered the hidden facility.

It is said among the Pirates of the Shadow Fleet that an experimental ship capable of deep scooping of fuel from Abyssal was protected from the Scream by the planet's deep gravity well. Finding this mythical ship is only the first of your problems. Once you've found it, you must survive getting to it. Only a specially outfitted ship would be capable of surviving the gravitational forces and destructive atmospheric environment of the gas giant...and then the issue how how to board the ship. If the ship is stuck there, why is it stuck there?

Rumors persist about a hidden laboratory orbiting the planet Veridion, where a scientist named Archibald Veridion, conducted early spike drive experiments. A horrible accident years ago caused a momentary gravitational rift that destroyed a settlement on the surface, and all 250 settlers that lived there. Plunderers believe their are secrets concealed within the lab's ruins, but it is within the planetary area carefully protected by Veridian’s navy. A ship with stealth technology might be able to approach, the alternative being approaching during a Nebula radiation storm, when nearly all ships avoid flying.

The planet of Veridian is known for its lush and enigmatic flora. Rumors persist of a spike drive test ship that accidentally crash-landed in this verdant paradise prior to the Scream and might be concealed within the overgrowth. Some theorize that if the ship’s spike drive was powered off and completely dormant, the meta-dimensional energy wave might not have triggered it to explode.

A hermit known as the Veridian Star Whisperer is said to commune with the stars and hold knowledge of a lost spike drive's location. Seekers of truth embark on pilgrimages to find this enigmatic figure, hoping to extract the celestial secrets locked within the Star Whisperer's mind. Few that seek him, find him. And it is said that those that due come away believing he is simply a madman.

The Plunder are scavengers of great renown, using the ruins of wrecked ships to build their raiding fleet. The Plunder has been known to comb the spaceship debris in the Oort Cloud for parts. They pick through the ruins of every ship-wreck they come across. Some scientists aboard Starlight Haven suggest that the Plunder may have scavenged one intact Spike Drive without even knowing what they have. Or perhaps they have enough parts from several destroyed Spike Drives to build one complete one. But, where do the Plunder call home? Where are their make-shift shipyards? And why would they give up anything to outsiders? NOTE: HAVING MET WITH MAD MORGAN OF THE PLUNDER, YOU DO NOT BELIEVE HE COULD POSSIBLY HAVE A SPIKE DRIVE, OR SUFFICIENT REMAINS OF A SPIKE DRIVE JUST SITTING UNDER HIS NOSE WITHOUT KNOW IT.
