From a Book Aquired by Venkat from Kari in the City of Order

"The Prophesy - Light from Darkness"

The study of magic is a never ending quest and Venkat always had trouble deciding what his next subject or spell would be.
Since his visit to Kari's shop of curiosities with it's unusual library and the Swaldune` text Kari had loaned him his course was clear.

He would study the scroll of read languages he'd been carrying for months suddenly the spell seemed far more interesting than some silly spell to melt your enemies eyeballs!

Sitting on the deck of the Crusty Whore the scroll of read languages layed out on his left and the Swaldune book, Light in Darkness on his right Venkat took his first tentative steps with his new spell.

His eyes went wide in surprise as he read the books first revelation on She.

The book Light in Darkness was difficult to read, even once the language made sense to Venkat. It was filled with what appeared to be prophetic ramblings, presenting in somewhat poetic quatrains. Reading the words was not as much a problem, as deciphering their deeper meanings. I'll start a document here in this private group, and add quatrains as Venkat gets them as clearly interpreted as he can manage.

The book Light in Darkness was difficult to read, even once the language made sense to Venkat. It was filled with what appeared to be prophetic ramblings, presenting in somewhat poetic quatrains. Reading the words was not as much a problem, as deciphering their deeper meanings. Below I will post quatrains as Venkat gets them as clearly interpreted as he can manage.

There is a short introduction to the book that sounds vaguely insane.  In it, the author introduces himself.  He claims to be a hermit monk living alone in the Red Jungle hundreds of years ago.  He warns of a coming age, when the people of the "Coast of Blood" will become central to the fate of the entire world of Kempin.  Venkat is aware that there were no settlers on the Crimson Coast hundreds of years ago, so the monk was taking quite a leap in suggesting not only that there would be settlers, but that they would somehow become important to the rest of the world.

In the introduction, the monk speaks of a coming war.  A "War of the Skulls."  Toward the end of the introduction the monk suggests that there is "Light in Darkness," and that if his prophesies are heeded...there is a chance that great good will come from what appears to be an all-consuming darkness to come.

The quatrains that Venkat interpreted while on the Crusty Whore:

Unstoppable, undying, death of all men
The Father's creation will earn his pride
Hip-deep in blood and fallen men
His footsteps will shake the world's foundations

White as snow and red as blood
The water-bourne armies flood forth
Grudges of old will be settled
And the pride of the Fist will falter

Dust and mold, from beds shall rise
Fire and smoke shall guide them
The Virgin a gift will give them
A man-child to tinder their hope

From a source both brave and craven
Shall spring both light and dark
But one year old, the sibs will clash
Powers half stand by each

The winds of war, the Kings decide
The death of nations, the Skulls decide
The coward's lot, She will decide
The Fate of the World, the Father decides

The Pretenders hold onto power
The Betrayed rises from an iron grave
Once music breaks the rusty bonds
The trio will die in his stoney grip

The Fist will strike heavy at the red coast
The unstoppable will of the Horseman's son
Heroes of old shall ride again and
None that stand against them shall live

Those that lit the tinder will scurry and run
Desperation, to Darkness will bind them
Some will fall, but other shall transform and
Lead dark legions into unholy battle

The raven and wolf will feast in the field
Tobin's grim smile many will see
Rivers will form from Mother's Tears
As the Brothers clash force upon force

The man of grey and the Tinkerer
Will share secrets in the Lands of Dream
Sweet sounds will free the Betrayed
Sweet sounds will sooth the eater of worlds

More quatrains will be posted, as Venkat interprets them.

At least, that is the legend as it is told...
