Another Effen Meeting

Adamn gets the team together for a meeting to discuss four things.

First, Here is the letter and list that Adamn is sending to Captain Marush and Tony Gold so they know what we’re looking for. It includes Strike drive items but also other things we want for ourselves, but would also be good to peddle. He tried to “hide” the items in the list with everything else. It also included a couple items we already have or can design. If we think we should send this list to the Plunder as well, then Adamn’s fine with that. (this letter is below)

Second item is, our ship. Right now, the only thing we can realistically do to our ship is make it better at not getting detected and getting away. We’re losers in a fight, even with the best pilot in the sector. Adamn will propose we steal a Veridian ship…maybe enlist our pirate allies to help somehow or they might have a ship with a plant on it that would be easier to take over.

My idea is we somehow isolate and hijack a Corvette size Frigate. That needs a crew size of ten, so us, with our bots can run it. Not really thought out fully, but maybe if we could get back to the 3 Right Turns, patch it into barely working shape and take it into a route frequented by Veridian patrols, maybe we could arrange a situation where they “board us” and we end up controlling their ship…we can leave them in a broken salvage vessel or kill them, whatever. Fuck those fuckers.

We don’t loose the Odessey and still have it for other options, maybe for sale. There is a mod we can put on a ship that allows it to tow other ships on spike drive trips. And I think everyone knows, Two ships is better than one ship.

Third item, We should get identities specifically for Veridian. ID’s for us personally, and for the ship. Since our real names are fucked there, but we have a lot of business interests there…and quite frankly, the people there deserve better than the fucking power structure they have now. IDs that are clean and that we keep that way, so we can operate there unimpeded. Cam’s friend Akhil can maybe help us with that?

Last item: Turn the volume on your bots down…the insulation in this ship isn’t that great…thanks. Adamn looka around and winks at the group….he’s just fuckin with em.

Thank you again for your hospitality and friendship! The short break we were allowed to enjoy after we <COMPLETED MISSION> was much needed and very helpful.

As we discussed while there, we are looking for many things and willing to also sell most of them. Here is our incomplete list of things we’re searching for. A “wanted list” if you will…perhaps there are things we do not know we should be looking for, so I doubt it will ever be complete, but here it is as best as I can do.

We look forward to continuing our friendship and growing both of our business ventures in the future. Wishing you all the best in business and life!

      Because your ship has a System Drive (instead of a spike drive), the Odyssey has a max of 12 power and 19 mass to spend, and the ship is currently maxed out at 12 power and 19 mass worth of components.

      Total additions you have proposed above, cost 6 power and 4 mass.  Removing the Colony Core gives you back 4 power and 4 mass.  So, you would be good on mass adding the three components above, but you are short 2 power.  One of the components would not be able to be installed on your ship.  This is GM to player information, not a message from Captain Marush.  FYI.  Do you want to pick 2 of them to ask for in return for the colony core?  Story-wise, this would also bring your trade offer more in line with the value of what you are asking to be installed (if the Emissions Dampeners remain on the list).

        Thank you for your quick response! In regard to the Colony Core, I understand the situation and the difficulty in extracting it. Perhaps instead of a cash transaction, a trade? While our ship is at your shipyard and your techs have it opened up to remove the CC, would it be possible to install the following two mods and then call it even. We need an Emissions Damper and fuel scoops.

        We desire these items for reasons you are privy to already. As to why we are looking for items that are involved in spike drives and some others whose purposes are not clearly known, I would prefer to keep details to a minimum until we are in person, although your suspicions are probably reasonably close to the truth. Pre-tech is our preferred target.

        For now, I hope the small amount of trust that we’ve earned is enough to continue our dialogue. Our goal is to solve a grand puzzle, and our honor, system of beliefs, code or philosophy, whatever you want to call it dictates that we help those who help us.

        I will offer this for added incentive. Whatever it is we are searching for, should you contribute with items or plans we do not already possess, we will share with you the plans you do not already possess if we have them. If the puzzle is solved, then the solution is shared by all who helped solve it. Let Freedom Reign!

          Response from Captain Marush of the Shadow Fleet:

          "We'd be interested in purchasing the Colony Core.  Understand something, before you start in about the price.  I'm assuming the colony core is either built into your current ship, or some other ship that you have access to.   That being the case, there is a lot of work involved in disconnecting the colony core from nearly every system in whatever ship it is installed.  And disconnecting it in a way that doesn't cause any damage to the ship in question.  This work could be done at our shipyard, but its going to take about two weeks of around the clock labor.  Keeping this in mind, I'll offer a firm price of 35,000 credits for the colony core.  I have a ship I wouldn't mind outfitting with that set-up."

          "Quite a few of the items on the list were unfamiliar to me.  So, I showed them to my Armorer and my Master Ship Builder.  My ship builder said quite a few of these parts are components that make a spike drive function.  Nearly every one of these spike drive components have no use known to my ship builder -- other than making a spike drive function.  It is hard to even put a price on something as rare as spike drive components, or the plans for how to build these components.  What are you guys up to exactly? "
