Seriously, another f'ing meeting

We Need a Plan

The Odessey was half stripped by this point, but the galley was still there as were their cabins. The Plunder were a fanatical group and it felt nice to get away for a bit in the confines of what would soon be our ‘last ship’. Getting the crew together for another boring speech by Adamn, everyone knew he would just hound them until they got it over with…

The new ship is still a couple weeks from being finished and we have a huge issue to deal with. Besides getting the drive to operate correctly, we need to program a jump using a 600 year old route. So, besides target practice, working out and getting drunk, I suggest we as a team start looking at two goals to accomplish before we get out of here.

First, we need to go over the math of the jump we’re about to take. Striker, you’re the pilot, so I want you on this team for sure. Zarkov, you’re the captain of the ship and will be leading us through this, so I want you on this team as well. I’ve been working on the math and the numbers for the jump, so I should be on the spike route team as well.

Second, we need to be ready for whatever we jump into. So, combat ready, but also reconnaissance ready. Have plans as to what we do as soon as we spike in based on the circumstances. Hostile environment, then in what case do we run versus fight. No visible threats, what steps do we take to recon the area. We know there was a planet that was heavily populated, but also toxic and deadly to humans. It purportedly had very valuable, but also tough to acquire resources. I suggest Corvus, Cam and myself work on this team.

Inclusion

A couple last things before you start asking questions:

First, if you want to be on a team that I did not suggest you for, that is fine. I expect both teams to present their ideas and plans to all of us…this is more about dividing duties based on known strengths, so if you feel you have good advice and knowledge for the team I did not suggest, show up for the meetings…you’re welcome to.

Secondly, I think it might be a good idea to invite the fembots to some of these meetings. I know they have directives and that some of us have started programming them. Mine will back me up in my medical and spiritual practices, but I have refrained from assigning her third goal until I’ve talked to all of you…I think it would be wise if we coordinated their skill sets or focus in some manner.

So, now that I’ve rambled on for ten minutes without letting any of you cut me off…what do you think?

Adamn leaned back in his chair, pulling the front two legs off the floor as he finally took a sip of the whiskey he’d been swirling in his glass while he spoke, waiting for the peanut gallery to begin.
