A (private) conversation

The others were at other tables, the bar, or next door at the brothel…the brothel with the most beautiful…and probably most dangerous women Timm had ever encountered. For some reason, he wondered what Famke was doing.

With just himself and Shade sitting there…both knowing the best of the ladies weren’t available until midnight, Timm very softly whispered, “So, what’s up with the honesty thing? It’s new, and quite frankly, I like it, but I’m worried it might be an impediment in many circumstances we are likely to find ourselves in…are you compelled to be honest? Do I need to be worried about this recent development? Between Sympos and myself, we can probably rid you of any magic compulsion.”

"I don't know what came over me. It was not like me. Something compelled me. You don't have to worry about me. It was something about those people. They did it to me. I know it. We have to be more careful. There are strong magics at play." Shade replied.

A small smile crept  its way onto Timm's face as he realized Shade thought the honesty thing was some magic from the guards we encountered. "Well, it’s almost midnight. Let’s go next door, unwind and we can review these matters tomorrow after a good night’s rest…this place presents many opportunities if we're cautious and stick together, let’s discuss in the morning when the others are around." Timm stated as he rose from the table.

Character Information:  You can move forward assuming that the mist in the "trials" area before reaching Shadowhaven is the cause for the temporary honesty.  Timm sensed the mist was magical, and it was immediately after exposure to this mist that Shade was so honest.  There may have been other character's similarly affected, but they were not so directly questioned by the Ironclads (i.e. Mr. Teaworthy).

A short time after being let loose in Shadowhaven by the Ironclads, Shade became one again his normally dishonest self, as did Mr. Teaworthy.  It is likely that every time a question was asked, Mr. Teaworthy was about to speak-up and answer honestly, but Shade beat him to it...as the focus was on Shade.

None of you are required to be any more honest moving forward, as you normally would be.  :-)
